// We’re getting married….next week :)//

My whole life, I have dreamed about the perfect woman for me…..someone I could laugh with, be spontaneous with, have deep conversations with, do absolutely nothing with, eat way to much food with, go to church with, make music videos in the grocery store with…. and most importantly, be myself with.  The crazy part is, at 23 years old, I found her.

Every day, for 358 days straight, I have woken up with butterflies in my stomach.  You think that after 2 weeks, that little boy, giddy feeling would go away, but it hasn’t.  Somehow, this woman continually inspires me. She inspires me to wake up and love her more than I did yesterday.  She inspires me to be a better person…to get rid of my faults…to love people for who they really are.

All of these things, along with 10,000 others left unwritten, have led us both to the following mutual decision:

In one week from today, On April 26th of 2012, Carissa Rae Martin and I will be getting married.  We started dating on April 26th of last year, so it’ll commemorate both our wedding day and 365 days of being together. This first celebration will be a “civil wedding”, meaning that we will get married in the courthouse with only our immediate families. My mom, dad, and sisters are flying out here from North Carolina this weekend, so I’m SUPER EXCITED. Our two families get to meet for the first time ;)

On April 26th of 2013 (in one year), we will be having a big celebration, complete with extended family, friends, fancy dresses, ceremonies, terrible dancing, awkward cousins, the whole nine-yards. We split it up this way so we could give our families time to plan their trips, as well as give Us enough time to save money for the big celebration.

In summary, I’m writing this post to tell you about our wedding, but I’m also writing this post to tell you this: there’s a perfect person for everyone. When you find that perfect person for you, never let them go. This is Us, never letting each other go.


Here’s our rings. This will be the first ring I’ve ever worn :)
